Kamień Pomorski is an urban-rural municipality located in the northwestern part of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Kamień County, with its capital in the town of Kamień Pomorski, known since 1274. The municipality covers 20.7% of the county's area and borders the municipalities of Dziwnów, Golczewo, Świerzno, and Wolin. The region's economy gained significance after the establishment of the Kamień Pomorski subzone within the Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone in 2014, which supports local entrepreneurs through tax relief opportunities. Kamień Pomorski lies in the picturesque area of the Gryfice Plain and the Trzebiatów Coast, with the western part of the municipality bordering the Dziwna Strait and the Kamień Lagoon, offering recreational and water areas ideal for kayaking, as well as abundant forests and agricultural land. Modern transportation is closely linked to the network of regional roads and railways; rail connection was established in 1892, and currently, there are four operational train stations. In terms of administration, the municipality achieved revenues of 53.2 million PLN in 2016, with expenditures amounting to 49.3 million PLN and public debt at 66.6% of revenues. The municipality comprises 21 village administrations, and the region's natural and architectural wealth makes it an attractive place for both residents and tourists. It is also worth emphasizing that Kamień Pomorski and the surrounding areas are known for their charming landscapes and local traditions, attracting an increasing number of visitors.
