Kawęczyn is a rural commune in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within Turek County, with its seat located in a settlement of the same name. Historically, the commune was known as Kowale Pańskie until 1954, and between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Konin Voivodeship. According to data from June 30, 2004, Kawęczyn had a population of 5,313. The commune covers an area of 101.06 km², of which 81% is agricultural land and 11% is forested. Kawęczyn occupies 10.87% of the total area of Turek County. In the 1970s, the commune's seat was temporarily located in Kowale Pańskie. Architecturally, the region is characterized by typical rural buildings of Greater Poland, with single-family homes and farmsteads reflecting the splendor of local agrarian traditions.
