Kaźmierz is a rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Szamotuły County, with its seat in the town of Kaźmierz. From 1975 to 1998, the municipality was part of the Poznań Voivodeship. According to data from the end of 2019, the municipality had a population of 8,755 and covers an area of 128.2 km², of which 74% is agricultural land and 15% is forested. The municipality occupies 11.45% of the total area of Szamotuły County. Among its most valuable architectural monuments are the Gothic churches in Kaźmierz and Bytyń, palace complexes in Bytyń and Nowa Wieś, as well as the mid-19th-century horse post station building in Gaj Wielki and the manor complex from the second half of the 19th century in Chlewiska. The Kaźmierz Municipality engages in cooperation with partner municipalities such as Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Hajnówka, and Ejszyszki. An important historical figure associated with the region is Wiesław Włodarczak. The municipality is surrounded by neighboring areas such as Duszniki, Rokietnica, Szamotuły, and Tarnowo Podgórne, highlighting its strategic location within the region. Kaźmierz is distinguished by its rich cultural heritage, which forms a vital part of its identity.
