The municipality of Kikół, located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Lipno County, is an urban-rural administrative unit with a rich history and valuable monuments. Associated with Lipno County, the municipality has undergone various administrative changes, and from 1975 to 1998, it belonged to the Włocławek Voivodeship. In 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 7,234 residents. The main localities of the municipality include the town of Kikół and numerous villages such as Ciełuchowo, Dąbrówka, Sumin, and Trutowo. Kikół is known for its rich collection of historical monuments, including the Chapel of St. Peter and Paul from 1778 and the church complex of the St. Adalbert Parish, which features a church built between 1904 and 1909. The municipality also boasts manor and palace complexes, such as the ensemble in Hornówko from the second half of the 19th century and the palace in Kikół from 1790, showcasing the region's architectural traditions.
