wikipedia
Lipno County, established in 1999 as part of the administrative reform, is located in the eastern part of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, with the town of Lipno serving as its capital. The county encompasses urban, urban-rural, and rural municipalities, including Lipno, Bobrowniki, Dobrzyń nad Wisłą, Kikół, Skępe, as well as rural communes such as Chrostkowo, Lipno, Tłuchowo, and Wielgie. An interesting aspect is the locality of Lisek, which functions as an enclave of Lipno County; although administratively it belongs to the Fabianki Commune in Włocławek County, it is entirely surrounded by villages from the Lipno and Bobrowniki communes. Demographically, the county has shown steady population growth: from 65,750 residents in December 2019 to 66,574 according to data from June 2020. Transportation in the county relies on a network of national roads, such as routes 10 and 67, as well as voivodeship roads, ensuring convenient connectivity. The county boasts rich architectural heritage, with numerous monuments and cultural sites that attract tourists. Historically, the starosts (administrative heads) of Lipno have played a significant role, with Wojciech Obernikowicz serving from 1999 to 2000, and Krzysztof Baranowski holding the position since then. Lipno County borders the city of Włocławek and neighboring counties such as Włocławek, Aleksandrów, Toruń, Golub-Dobrzyń, and Rypin, as well as counties in the Masovian Voivodeship, fostering regional cooperation. Thanks to its cultural resources and demographic vitality, Lipno County represents a dynamic area within the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.
