Klukowo Commune, located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship within Wysokie Mazowieckie County, is a rural commune with its administrative seat in the village of Klukowo. The commune comprises 38 villages and has a total area of 123.77 km², of which 86% is agricultural land and 9% is forested. Its history dates back to 1239, when the village was mentioned in the Święck castellany. In the 15th century, Klukowo was resettled and became the property of the Starzeński family, who built a tomb chapel in 1835. Within the commune, there is a Neo-Gothic church as well as a Stations of the Cross made of stone. In Gródek, near Klukowo, a cemetery of ancient human settlements was discovered, testifying to the region's rich past. The commune also boasts valuable natural resources, being part of the Green Lungs of Poland area. In the Nurzec River valley, one can find natural aquatic and peatland vegetation. The local fauna includes wolves, moose, deer, wild boars, while the waters of the Nurzec are home to noble crayfish and beavers. Klukowo Commune is characterized by a moderate transitional climate with distinct continental influences. The commune is home to four primary schools and a lower secondary school, highlighting its commitment to education. Klukowo also has a rich structure of village councils (sołectwa), which fosters local social integration. The commune borders the communes of Boguty-Pianki, Brańsk, Ciechanowiec, Czyżew, Rudka, and Szepietowo, reflecting its diverse surroundings.
