Kołaczkowo is a rural commune in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, within the Września County. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Poznań Voivodeship. Covering an area of 115.95 km², the commune is predominantly agricultural, with farmland accounting for 86% of its territory, while forests make up 7%. As of 2017, it had a population of 6,065 people. The commune is distinguished by its rich architectural heritage, featuring 14 historical monuments, including churches, palaces, and parks. In Bieganowo, notable sites include the Holy Cross Church from 1729 and a palace complex dating from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The area also boasts manor complexes, such as those in Gorazdowo and Grabowo Królewskie, with the latter being home to the Church of St. Hedwig, built between 1925 and 1927. In Sokolniki, visitors can find the Church of St. James the Greater, constructed between 1930 and 1932, alongside a historic park. A particularly interesting site is the wooden Church of St. Michael in Zieliniec, which dates back to the 18th century. Along with a 17th-century bell tower and a 19th-century manorial park, it adds to the commune's rich cultural landscape.
