W skrócie

wikipedia
Kołoniec is a village located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in the Końskie County, known for its rich industrial history. In the past, it was an industrial settlement, part of the Old-Polish Industrial Basin, with the first records dating back to 1510, when an iron forge named "Niewola" operated there. In the 18th century, the village was renowned for its blast furnace supplying pig iron to local plants. In the 19th century, it flourished thanks to the efforts of Franciszek Jakubowski, who modernized the local industry by building new furnaces and facilities. Between 1836 and 1846, Kołoniec experienced its heyday, but later technological changes and insufficient raw material resources led to the gradual decline of its industry. During World War I and World War II, the village witnessed numerous military events, particularly during frontline battles. Today, Kołoniec is known for fish farming, and the only preserved industrial architecture is the rolling mill hall, which has been converted into a fire station. Tourist attractions include picturesque breeding ponds and the Czarna River, while the history of Kołoniec is deeply embedded in local culture, as evidenced by preserved structures and residents' accounts. An interesting fact is that Władysław Reymont described Kołoniec in his work "Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra," recalling memories of his visit to this mining settlement. Today, the village blends the past with the present, offering unique historical and natural experiences.
