Kostomłoty

The Kostomłoty Commune, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in the Środa Śląska County, is a place with a rich history and a distinctly agricultural character. The commune comprises several localities, such as Bogdanów, Chmielów, and Godków. The commune's area is 146.25 km², of which 88% is agricultural land and only 4% is forested, highlighting the region's agricultural profile. The commune is almost devoid of forests, but larger forest complexes can be found in its southern part, in the valley of the Strzegomka River. Between 1975 and 1998, Kostomłoty belonged to the Wrocław Voivodeship, which reflects its long-standing connection with the region. The seat of the commune is the town of Kostomłoty. The commune's demographics show a steady increase in population: in 2004, there were 6,941 inhabitants, and by 2020, the number had grown to 7,110. The commune borders Kąty Wrocławskie, Mietków, and other communes, enhancing its regional significance.
