wikipedia
Krąg Castle, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship on the shores of Lake Zamkowe, is one of the most fascinating modern residential complexes in Pomerania. Its history dates back to 1495, when it was built by Adam Podewils as a residential tower surrounded by a moat. In the 16th century, on the initiative of Felix von Podewils, a Renaissance reconstruction was carried out, and later, in the 17th and 19th centuries, further changes were introduced, including a Neo-Renaissance style under the direction of Karl Wilhelm von Riepenhausen. The castle, consumed by fire in 1945, survived as a ruin, and for years its remains were used for forestry and educational purposes. In the 1970s, attempts were made to rebuild it, but the project was halted due to lack of funds. In 1990, the castle passed into private hands and was then completely restored, returning it to its pre-1945 historical form while incorporating all previous renovations. Today, the castle operates as the Podewils Hotel, offering guests a beach and swimming piers, making it a tourist attraction. Thanks to its rich history, diverse architectural styles, and beautiful location, Krąg Castle is an important point on the cultural map of Pomerania.
