Kwidzyn is a rural municipality located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Kwidzyn County, with its administrative seat in the town of Kwidzyn. From 1975 to 1998, the municipality was part of the Elbląg Voivodeship. It consists of 28 village districts, such as Baldram, Brachlewo, Dubiel, and Tychnowy. According to data from June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 10,104 inhabitants and covers an area of 207.25 km², with agricultural land accounting for 67% of the territory and forests covering 20%. The municipality also constitutes a significant part of the county, making up 24.83% of its total area. Within the municipality lies the Kwidzyńskie Ostnice Nature Reserve, highlighting its natural values. The municipality borders towns such as Gardeja, Gniew, Prabuty, and Ryjewo, making it part of a diverse region.
