Kwidzyn County, located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, was established in 1999 as a result of administrative reform, with its seat in the city of Kwidzyn. According to data, 83,174 people lived here in 2019, and by 2020 this number had decreased to 83,028. The county includes the urban municipality of Kwidzyn, the urban-rural municipality of Prabuty, and the rural municipalities of Gardeja, Kwidzyn, Ryjewo, and Sadlinki. Kwidzyn County lies within the subprovince of the South Baltic Lake District, in the regions of the Lower Vistula Valley and the Iława Lake District. It borders the counties of Sztum, Tczew, Iława, Grudziądz, and Świecie.
