Kwilcz is a rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Międzychód County. Its administrative seat is the town of Kwilcz, and during the administrative period of 1975-1998, it belonged to the Poznań Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 141.78 km², of which 60% is agricultural land and 29% is forest land, highlighting its agricultural character. According to demographic data, at the end of 2017, the municipality had a population of 6,375, while in 2009, the number of inhabitants was 6,153. The municipality consists of 16 village administrative districts (sołectwa), with an average population of 384 people per district. The Municipality of Kwilcz is surrounded by neighboring municipalities: Chrzypsko Wielkie, Lwówek, Międzychód, Pniewy, and Sieraków, which fosters regional cooperation. The municipality also collaborates with partner cities, such as Breteil in France and Ślemień in Poland, promoting cultural exchange and cooperation between communities.
