wikipedia
Laskowice, a village located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, is a place with a rich history dating back to the 13th century, first mentioned in 1328 as Lascovic. The village developed as a knightly settlement, owned by many different families, including the Gordons, who in the 19th and 20th centuries contributed to the architectural development of Laskowice. During this time, a neo-Gothic palace in the Tudor style was built, along with brick farm buildings. The landscape park established in the 19th century still impresses with its abundance of trees and historical natural monuments, including majestic oaks. During World War II, Laskowice experienced dramatic events related to the Gordon family, and the tragic fate of its members became part of local legend. Laskowice also has a rich religious tradition. In 1947, the Parish of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary was established, and in the 1960s, a new church was built. The culture of Laskowice is enriched by the activities of the Divine Word Missionaries and local initiatives. Laskowice is also known for its development of transport infrastructure, as the village has been a railway junction since the 19th century. Despite numerous administrative changes, including belonging to various municipalities and voivodeships, the village has retained its identity and is currently the largest locality in the Jeżewo municipality. Modern-day Laskowice is a community with traditions, a developed educational infrastructure that includes schools and kindergartens, and a Cultural Center. The village also offers numerous natural monuments that support the area's biodiversity.
