Jezewo

Jeżewo is a rural commune located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Świecie County, with its administrative seat in Jeżewo. In 2019, it had a population of 8,074. The commune covers an area of 155.93 km², of which 36% is agricultural land and 53% is forested, making it an area rich in natural assets. The commune lies within the mesoregions of the Świecie Upland and the Tuchola Forest, which contribute to its beautiful landscapes. Rivers such as the Sobińska Struga, Mątawa, and Wda flow through its territory, and there are numerous lakes, including Stelchno and Laskowickie. Architectural highlights include registered heritage sites, such as the 19th-century manor complex in Taszewo and the parish church complex dedicated to the Holy Trinity, dating back to 1427. The commune also features Evangelical cemeteries in various localities, which testify to the region's historical past.
