The Latowicz municipality, located in the Masovian Voivodeship within the Mińsk County, boasts a rich history dating back to 1870, when it was established based on the Latowicz starostwo. Between 1919 and 1939, the municipality was part of the Warsaw Voivodeship, and after World War II, its administrative status underwent several changes until finally, in 2023, following Latowicz's recovery of its town rights, it became an urban-rural municipality. The municipality covers an area of 114.15 km², dominated by agricultural land (84%), highlighting its typical agricultural character with individual, medium-sized farms. The municipality includes numerous villages, such as Dąbrówka, Generałowo, and Wężyczyn. Latowicz is a place of historical significance, where architectural traces of the past, linked to former agricultural traditions, can be observed. Interestingly, the municipality constitutes only 9.8% of the area of Mińsk County, which may indicate its local importance. As an urban-rural municipality, Latowicz combines urban and rural features, influencing its cultural life and community dynamics. In 2010, the population was 5,561, which also suggests a moderate pace of demographic development in the region.
