Lubasz is a rural commune located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Czarnków-Trzcianka County. The administrative seat of the commune is the village of Lubasz, and according to data from March 31, 2011, the commune had a population of 7,337. Its total area is 167.27 km², which constitutes 9.27% of the county's area. In terms of land use, agricultural areas cover 47%, while forests account for 46% of the territory, highlighting the commune's agricultural and forested character. The local climate is favorable, with average daily temperatures in the summer season ranging from 15 to 25°C, resulting in 87 days of such weather per year. The soil quality in the commune varies – the northwestern part features low-quality soils associated with the Notecka Forest, while the southeastern part is dominated by high-quality soils conducive to agricultural production. The history of Lubasz dates back to the Neolithic era, though intensive settlement began during the Bronze and Iron Ages. In the 13th century, Lubasz became the seat of the Lubaski family and later passed into the hands of the Gorajski family, who built a wooden manor. In the 18th century, the Miaskowski family constructed a classicist palace, and after the Second Partition of Poland, the area came under Prussian rule. In 1896, the Krzyż–Rogoźno railway line was opened, contributing to the commune's development. An interesting feature is the diverse layout of the villages within the commune, such as Antoniewo, Dębe, and Sławno, which harmoniously coexist with picturesque forest and agricultural landscapes.
