Wieleń

Wieleń is an urban-rural municipality in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Czarnków-Trzcianka County, with its administrative seat located in Wieleń. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality belonged to the Piła Voivodeship. It encompasses a variety of settlements, including villages, forest hamlets, and forestry lodges. In 2022, it was home to 11,798 residents. The municipality covers an area of 428.32 km², dominated by forest land, which constitutes 65% of the area, and agricultural land, accounting for 27%. The history of the municipality includes administrative changes, such as the incorporation of Mikołajewo, which was finalized in 1992. Wieleń boasts rich natural resources and distinctive landscapes, making it an attractive place to live.
