wikipedia
Lubaszowa, a village located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in the Tarnów district, is an example of the rich historical and natural heritage of the Ciężkowickie Foothills region. Its climate is characterized by polar-maritime air masses, which result in low thermal variability in summer and significant temperature drops in winter. The average temperature in January is -3°C, while in July it is 18°C, with annual precipitation of about 600 mm. Lubaszowa is home to War Cemetery No. 151 from World War I, which is part of the local architectural heritage. The village lies in the picturesque valley of the Biała River, near the railway line and the Tarnów-Krynica road, enhancing its tourist accessibility. As a place with a rich history, Lubaszowa was an important point on the Hungarian trade route. The first mention of the village appeared in the "Document of Idzi" in 1105, when Judyta, the widow of Władysław Herman, donated the village to the Tyniec Benedictine Abbey. For centuries, it remained in their hands, suffering numerous destructions during invasions and wars, including the invasion of Rákóczi and the Bar Confederation war. Modern-day Lubaszowa stands out not only for its history but also for its rich natural environment—the region features diverse forest communities, including fertile Carpathian beech forests and subcontinental oak-hornbeam forests. The wildlife includes a rich fauna, such as deer, roe deer, and rare birds like the black stork and the goshawk. In 1995, the Brzanka Range Landscape Park was established to protect the natural values of the region. Interestingly, Lubaszowa also boasts hot springs, which attract tourists. The village is an excellent destination for relaxation and active leisure amidst beautiful nature and historical monuments.
