Lubiszyn is a rural commune located in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, within the Gorzów County. The administrative seat of the commune is the village of Lubiszyn. Historically, between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the Gorzów Voivodeship. In 2004, the commune had a population of 6,726, and by the end of 2017, this number had increased to 6,907, indicating a gradual population growth. The commune spans an area of 205.3 km², more than half of which is occupied by agricultural and forest land (47% and 43% of the area, respectively). The Bagno Chłopiny nature reserve, located within the commune, protects diverse peatland ecosystems and swamp forests, which are home to rich flora and fauna. The commune includes villages such as Baczyna, Brzeźno, Chłopiny, Gajewo, Kozin, Lubno, Marwice, Mystki, Podlesie, Staw, Ściechów, Ściechówek, Tarnów, and Wysoka. The vicinity of Lubiszyn is also surrounded by neighboring communes, such as Bogdaniec, Dębno, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Kłodawa, Myślibórz, Nowogródek Pomorski, and Witnica, highlighting the regional significance of this area.
