wikipedia
The railway station in Ludwikowice Kłodzkie, built between 1909 and 1912, is an example of Silesian architecture from the early 20th century. It features a two-story structure with a hipped roof, a plastered ground floor, and a wooden upper floor facade. The building served various functions, including housing ticket offices, but it has not handled passengers since the ticket offices closed in 1999. The station was transferred to the local municipality in 2013. The railway stop has a single low island platform, 225 meters long, with a shelter and an underground passage, but it is not equipped with a public address system. Since 1975, the station has been fitted with light signals, and the main function of the dispatch signal box is to manage traffic on the single-track line, which has been in place since the end of World War II. Ludwikowice Kłodzkie, which became a railway station in 1880, has witnessed numerous technological and social changes. In recent times, the railway lines have gone through various phases, including the suspension of passenger services in 2006, which were resumed in 2009 by Lower Silesian Railways. Twice a year, tourist trains such as the "Kilof" (Pickaxe) run on the route, attracting railway enthusiasts. An important part of the station's history is its role in freight transport, especially before World War II and in the postwar period, when the station thrived mainly due to the siding to Miłków and services for local industrial plants. Today, Line 286 continues to draw attention as a still necessary part of Lower Silesia's railway infrastructure, as well as an excellent example of industrial architecture and the region's railway history.
