Mieroszów is an urban-rural municipality in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within the Wałbrzych County, covering an area of 76.17 km², of which 48% is agricultural land and 43% is forested. The municipality plays a significant role in the county, accounting for 14.81% of its total area. The seat of the local government is Mieroszów, which historically, between 1975 and 1998, was part of the Wałbrzych Voivodeship.
From a demographic perspective, in 2004, the municipality had a population of 7,582. By 2016, this number had dropped below 7,000, and according to data from 2019, it stood at 6,760 residents. In 2020, the population was recorded at 6,717. Mieroszów includes several villages, such as Golińsk, Kamionka, Kowalowa, and Sokołowsko. The region features interesting architectural monuments and remnants of its industrial past.
