Lutomiersk is an urban-rural municipality located in the Łódź Voivodeship, in the Pabianice County, with its seat in the town of Lutomiersk, where the mayor is Jarosław Dębski. In 2011, the municipality had a population of 7,309. Historically, during the era of the Kingdom of Poland, Lutomiersk was part of the Łask County in the Piotrków Governorate. In 1870, Lutomiersk lost its town rights and was incorporated into the rural municipality. The municipality covers an area of 133.92 km², of which 71% is agricultural land and 22% is forested, making it an important area for agriculture and forestry, as well as for its natural landscapes. Within the municipality, there are two significant nature reserves: Jodły Oleśnickie, which protects a natural fir forest, and the Mianów Reserve, known for its rich flora and lowland peat bogs. Thus, the Lutomiersk Municipality plays a key role in nature conservation in the region, promoting biodiversity. In terms of culture and architecture, Lutomiersk boasts traditional Polish houses and local monuments that bear witness to the area’s rich history. Its proximity to municipalities such as Aleksandrów Łódzki, Konstantynów Łódzki, and Pabianice creates opportunities for cooperation and the development of local initiatives.
