Luzino is a rural municipality located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Wejherowo County, entirely situated within the Tricity agglomeration. From 1975 to 1998, it belonged to the Gdańsk Voivodeship. It is characterized by dynamic population growth – from 2002 to 2015, the number of inhabitants increased by 27.9%, and according to data from June 30, 2023, the municipality has 17,778 residents. The average age of its inhabitants is 32.9 years, which is significantly lower than the average in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and in Poland. The municipality consists of 12 village districts (sołectwa), the largest of which is Luzino, also serving as the seat of the administrative authorities. In 2014, Kashubian was introduced here as an auxiliary language, highlighting the importance of the local Kashubian culture. The surface area of the municipality covers 111.93 km², of which 49% is agricultural land and 42.4% is forest land. The municipality occupies 8.73% of the area of Wejherowo County. It borders the municipalities of Gniewino, Linia, Łęczyce, Szemud, and Wejherowo, which fosters the sharing of local resources and culture. Luzino features numerous public facilities that enrich the offerings for residents and also attract tourists. The municipality is an example of a region where Kashubian tradition blends with modernity, making it an interesting place both to live in and to visit.
