Lubycza Królewska is an urban-rural municipality located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within the Tomaszów County, with its administrative seat in Lubycza Królewska. The municipality was established on August 1, 1934, and its history is closely tied to the region, which for many years was part of various administrative divisions, including during the interwar period when it belonged to the Rawa County in the Lwów Voivodeship. After World War II, the municipal seat was moved to Bełżec, and in 1944, Lubycza Królewska was incorporated into the Tomaszów County in the Lublin Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 208.09 km², of which approximately 65% is agricultural land and 27% is forest. The municipality borders Ukraine, which contributes to its diverse cultural and architectural background. Within its territory, there are two nature reserves: Jalinka and Machnowska Góra, highlighting its natural values and rich flora and fauna. It is also worth noting the administrative villages (sołectwa) that form the local administrative structure, including Huta Lubycka, Mosty Małe, and Żurawce. The municipality's history, rich natural heritage, and proximity to a border crossing make it a place of unique significance in the region, influencing the development of local culture and community. Additionally, the municipality constitutes 14.26% of the area of Tomaszów County, underscoring its important role among the municipalities of the region.
