Miłomłyn is an urban-rural municipality located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in Ostróda County, with its seat in Miłomłyn. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality belonged to the Olsztyn Voivodeship. According to data from 2019, the municipality had a population of 4,941. Its area is 160.6 km², dominated by agricultural land (39.49%) and forests (41.78%). The municipality is characterized by a rich demographic structure and diverse localities. It includes numerous villages such as Bagieńsko, Boguszewo, and Dębinka, as well as settlements and colonies like Barcinek and Kamieńczyk. Neighboring municipalities include Iława, Łukta, Małdyty, Morąg, Ostróda, and Zalewo. The municipality cooperates with its partner city, Klötze, in Germany.
