Małkinia Górna is a rural commune located in the Masovian Voivodeship, in the Ostrów County, with its seat in the town of Małkinia Górna. The commune was formed as a result of the merger of the Orło and Prostyń communes. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Ostrołęka Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 134.08 km², of which 60% is agricultural land and 29% is forest land. As of June 30, 2004, the commune was inhabited by 12,296 people. Architecturally, the commune is characterized by a rural landscape featuring traditional residential buildings and public utility structures that bear witness to the local culture. It also boasts the presence of historical monuments that may attract history and architecture enthusiasts.
