wikipedia
Marcin Kasprzak Street is a significant road section in Warsaw's Wola district, connecting, among others, Wolska Street with other parts of the city. Its history dates back to the 18th century when it was known as Droga Dworska (Manor Road). The street was once part of the international E8 route and the national road No. 2. Between 1986 and 2000, a section of it also overlapped with national road No. 2. At the beginning of the 20th century, the street underwent numerous changes, especially in connection with the development of transport infrastructure; a tram line and hospitals were established. In 1950, it was given its current name in honor of Marcin Kasprzak, a national hero. The street is also home to many important facilities, such as BNP Paribas Bank, Wolski Hospital, the Institute of Mother and Child, and the former Warsaw Gasworks, which now houses the Museum of Gas Engineering. In the 1960s, a comprehensive modernization was carried out, transforming it into a major transport artery. Recent years have brought further changes, including plans for tram expansion and the restoration of sculptures that once adorned the street. Marcin Kasprzak Street combines rich history, architectural achievements, and cultural significance, making it an important element of Warsaw's urban landscape.
