The Military University of Aviation (Lotnicza Akademia Wojskowa, LAW) in Dęblin is a Polish military university with a long-standing tradition, training pilots and aviation personnel. Its history dates back to 1925, when the Officer School of Aviation was established in Grudziądz and later relocated to Dęblin in 1927, which became the aviation capital of Poland. During and after World War II, the institution underwent numerous reorganizations, including its transformation into the Military Pilot School. In the post-war period, training was based on Soviet methods, and the need for qualified aviation personnel was immense. In the 1960s, the school gained the status of a higher military academy, educating personnel with a modern, technical approach. In 1994, it was renamed the Air Force Officers University, and since 2018 it has been known as the Military University of Aviation, offering both military and civilian programs. The Academic Center for Aviation Training includes certified training organizations in compliance with EASA regulations. An interesting fact is the establishment of the Air Force Museum in Dęblin in 2011, which houses historical aircraft. The university collaborates with numerous national and international institutions, highlighting its importance in international aviation training. LAW continuously develops its programs to meet modern requirements, making it a key educational hub in Poland and abroad.
