Ryki County, located in the Lublin Voivodeship, was re-established in 1999 as a result of the administrative reform. Its seat is the town of Ryki, which for a long time did not have town status (granted on January 1, 1957). Historically, Ryki County was established on January 1, 1956, when 24 village districts (gromady) were separated from Garwolin County. Currently, the county consists of urban, urban-rural, and rural municipalities, including the towns of Dęblin and Ryki. In terms of architecture, the area is notable for its history and urban development, with preserved traditional rural and urban structures. Culturally, Ryki County is rich in local traditions, festivals, and events that form an integral part of community life. Historically, an important aspect of the county has been its affiliation with various voivodeships. Following the latest administrative reform, the municipality of Kłoczew was reintegrated into Ryki County. In recent years, a significant and controversial resolution by the County Council regarding gender ideology and "LGBT" sparked public debate and criticism from the Commissioner for Human Rights. Demographically, according to 2019 data, the county was inhabited by nearly 56,000 people, with an unemployment rate of 6.8%. Today, Ryki County is an area with a diverse economy and a rich history, making it an interesting region for further exploration and study.
