Mogielnica is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Grójec County, with its seat in the town of the same name. The municipality covers an area of 141.56 km², and its spatial structure is primarily composed of agricultural land (81%) and forests (12%). According to data from 2017, the municipality had a population of 8,802, which increased to 8,682 by 2019. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Radom Voivodeship. The local government is headed by Mayor Sławomir Chmielewski and Secretary Joanna Kaźmierska.
In terms of politics, during the 2011 parliamentary elections, the majority of votes were cast for the Law and Justice party, which received 45.83% of the votes. Mogielnica is situated in the picturesque southern part of the Masovian Voivodeship, approximately 60 km from Warsaw. The municipality is traversed by the provincial road no. 728, which facilitates transportation and contributes to regional development.
