Morasko, formerly known as Nordheim, is a peripheral district of Poznań, located on the northern outskirts of the city, within the Morasko-Radojewo housing estate. Its history dates back to 1388, when the area belonged to the parish in Chojnica. The village was incorporated into the administrative boundaries of Poznań in 1987, and in 1993, the Morasko Housing Estate was established. Today, Morasko retains a rural character across a large, sparsely urbanized area, featuring farmland and forests. At the heart of the district lies Moraska Hill, the highest point in Poznań, surrounded by the "Morasko Meteorite" nature reserve. The area's recreational potential makes it ideal for hiking and cycling, and it offers opportunities to encounter local wildlife. Morasko is also home to valuable architectural landmarks, including an 18th-century late Baroque manor and a palace built between 1857 and 1887, which is now privately owned. The southern part of the district hosts a section of the newly developed campus of Adam Mickiewicz University, dedicated to natural sciences. Morasko is served by bus transportation, ensuring connectivity to the city center, while its local landscapes attract residents from neighboring districts for leisure activities. With a population of 906, Morasko represents a fascinating example of the integration of rural and urban spaces, reflecting the region’s rich history.
