wikipedia
Moszczanka, also known as Langenbrück and Dlouhé Mosty, is a village located in southwestern Poland, in the Opole Voivodeship, in Upper Silesia. It has existed since the 13th century, with the first mention dating back to 1321, when the area was affected by frequent floods. The village is full of historical monuments, including a roadside chapel from 1827 and an Evangelical school from the 18th/19th century, as well as Catholic and Evangelical cemeteries. Moszczanka is also home to the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which serves as the center of religious and social life. The history of Moszczanka is rich—the village was once part of the Margraviate of Moravia and later the Kingdom of Prussia. In the 18th and 19th centuries, agriculture and industry (particularly milling and cloth production) developed here. During World War II, Moszczanka became a strategic location, and many people were forced to leave. After the war, the village became a settlement for repatriates from the Eastern Borderlands. Today, Moszczanka is increasingly focused on tourism, with a well-developed agritourism infrastructure and attractions such as fishing ponds. An interesting fact is that the village regularly cooperates with the Czech town of Jindřichov and also organizes Flag Day celebrations. Moszczanka also features numerous hiking and cycling trails that attract many nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. In terms of safety, the Volunteer Fire Department operates here, and the village is under the care of the Border Guard. The locality also has its own traditions and a diverse population due to immigration, which contributes to its cultural richness. Notable figures associated with Moszczanka include Father Johann Soffner and Member of Parliament Katarzyna Czochara.
