wikipedia
Murowaniec is a village in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, located in the municipality of Białe Błota, approximately 9 km from Bydgoszcz. The village is traversed by the Upper Noteć Canal, and the surrounding area is enveloped by the Bydgoszcz Forest. Murowaniec has a non-agricultural character, with a dominant residential function and small commercial clusters. The municipality features recreational plots, forests, and meadows, which support the development of single-family housing. The village also has a church, the seat of the Parish of St. Rafał Kalinowski, and a disused Evangelical cemetery. From a historical perspective, Murowaniec was a noble village, known since the 18th century. The Bydgoszcz Canal, built in 1774, contributed to the region's development. In the 19th century, German settlement was present, and an 1833 census recorded 50 inhabitants, mostly Evangelicals. Murowaniec went through various phases of settlement, and after World War II, a period of intensive development began, particularly after 2000 due to Bydgoszcz's suburbanization. Between 2003 and 2009, the population increased by 85%. Murowaniec is an example of a changing community, with a rich history and dynamically developing infrastructure and services. Modern Murowaniec blends elements of Polish and German culture, reflecting its diverse history and inhabitants.
