Museum of Folk Culture of the Sudeten Foothills in Kudowa-Zdrój

The Museum of Folk Culture of the Sudeten Foothills is located on the slopes of Pstrążnica in Kudowa-Zdrój, at an altitude of 515-595 meters above sea level. It was established in 1984 as a branch of the Regional Museum in Wałbrzych, and since 2006 it has been administratively part of the Kudowa-Zdrój municipality. The museum focuses on collecting architectural monuments and cultural artifacts of the people who inhabited this region from the 18th to the early 20th century. The open-air museum not only displays original buildings but also their reconstructions and interior furnishings, providing a deeper insight into the daily life of the former inhabitants of the Sudeten Foothills. As part of its exhibition activities, the museum also offers educational programs, such as the museum lesson "From a Grain – Through Flour – To a Loaf of Bread." In addition to exhibitions, the institution organizes various cultural events, such as the Folk Ensemble Review "Róża Kłodzka," May Day celebrations, Midsummer Night festivities, and a summer film series, making it an important venue on the region's cultural map. The museum is open year-round from Tuesday to Sunday, and admission is charged. It is worth noting that the open-air museum in Kudowa-Zdrój not only serves an educational role but also promotes local culture by preserving and showcasing the unique heritage of the Sudeten Foothills. The atmosphere of this place and the diversity of cultural events attract both residents and tourists, contributing to the museum's growing popularity and significance.
