Museum of Games and Computers of the Past Era

The Museum of Games and Computers of the Past Era, opened on September 2, 2017, at the Świebodzki Station in Wrocław, is a unique institution dedicated to the history of games, consoles, and computers. It is the result of an initiative by RetroGralnia, which has been active since 2011. The museum combines cultural and historical elements, showcasing the evolution of entertainment technology from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Its architecturally intriguing interior features diverse exhibits, including around 100 consoles and computers, arcade machines, mechanical games, and extensive interactive stations. Notable exhibits include the first personal computer—the IBM 5150—and the Magnavox Odyssey console. The museum not only preserves the memory of past technologies but also educates visitors about the impact of gaming on society, making it a meeting place for enthusiasts of retro computing and gaming culture. An interesting fact is that the museum boasts over 200 computers and consoles, as well as a collection of magazines from the 1990s, placing it among the leading European museums dedicated to this theme. Thanks to the efforts of its organizers, the museum has become an important landmark in Wrocław, attracting both tourists and local enthusiasts.
