The Museum of Mementos of the 1st Polish Army in Stare Łysogórki, operating since the 1960s, is located in the village of Stare Łysogórki in the Gryfino County and serves as an organizational unit of the Mieszkowice municipality. The museum's headquarters, situated near a war cemetery, is managed by the local Municipal Services Company. The museum's exhibition focuses on memorabilia related to the crossing of the Oder River in April 1945, and among the exhibits, visitors can find uniforms, equipment of the soldiers of the 1st Polish Army, medals, documents, maps, and photographs, as well as urns containing soil from World War II battlefields. Until 2013, firearms and ammunition were also displayed there, but these exhibits were confiscated by the police due to the lack of appropriate permits. Despite the investigation being discontinued, they never returned to the museum. The museum building faces technical issues, and a lack of funding led to the idea of closing the institution in 2015, with plans to transfer the exhibits to the Museum of Mementos of the Engineering Forces in Gozdowice. The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage emphasized that the museum does not have the status of a museum institution, has not agreed on its regulations, and is not listed in the register of cultural institutions. The museum is seasonal and open from April 16 to October 15. At the entrance to the museum stands a monument—an IS-2 tank from the 4th Pomeranian Heavy Tank Regiment, adding historical value to the entire site. It is also worth noting that the museum is an important point on the map of local culture and historical memory, preserving the memories of soldiers and events of World War II.
