Myślibórz is an urban-rural municipality located in the southwestern part of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the Myślibórz County, with the town of Myślibórz serving as its administrative seat. In 2016, the municipality had a population of 20,251, and according to 2019 data, the population decreased to 19,702. The municipality ranks 15th in the voivodeship in terms of both area and population, accounting for 27.8% of the county's total area. It is situated on the Myślibórz Lake District, neighboring municipalities such as Barlinek, Dębno, Nowogródek Pomorski, Banie, and Trzcińsko-Zdrój. The area features two nature reserves—Długogóry and Tchórzyno—as well as the Myśla River, ideal for kayaking, and two lakes: Myśliborskie and Łubie. Forests cover 22% of the municipality's area, while agricultural land accounts for 62%.
In terms of transportation, the Myślibórz municipality has a well-developed network of national roads, including Road No. 3, which connects Renice with Lipiany, and Road No. 23 from Myślibórz to Dębno. The municipality was also a significant railway hub starting in 1882 when connections to Kostrzyn nad Odrą were opened, contributing to its development until the 1990s, when most of the railway lines were closed.
From a historical perspective, the municipality has a rich heritage reflecting administrative changes, such as its affiliation with the Gorzów Voivodeship until 1998. Some changes in naming occurred as early as 1951, when the name of the village Kolonia Myślibórz was changed to Mirawno.
Culturally, the Myślibórz municipality may be of interest to tourists due to its natural attractions and accessibility of hiking trails. In 2016, the total budget expenditures of the municipality amounted to PLN 73.1 million, with revenues of PLN 74.4 million, reflecting the economic and local government activity of the region. The municipality also has two post offices, facilitating communication for residents. An interesting fact is that a significant percentage of the area is covered by forests, providing excellent conditions for recreation and leisure. With its natural attractions and diverse infrastructure, the Myślibórz municipality is an interesting place for both residents and visitors.
