NBP Sławomir S. Skrzypek Money Center

The Sławomir S. Skrzypek NBP Money Center in Warsaw is an interactive educational and exhibition facility of the National Bank of Poland, open to the public since May 14, 2016. It is located at the NBP headquarters on Świętokrzyska Street and offers over 2,000 m² of space divided into 16 thematic halls, where visitors can explore the history of money, the functions of central banks, and understand the principles governing financial markets. The exhibition includes, among other things, a vault with a gold bar, valuable numismatic items, as well as modern multimedia that engagingly present economic issues. The Center has fulfilled its mission of popularizing knowledge about economics and the history of money through the use of modern technologies, making it a unique point on Poland's educational map. The idea for this place was the project of Sławomir Skrzypek, the former president of the NBP, who died in the Smolensk air disaster. The Center is open to visitors six days a week, offering free admission and a variety of educational activities for schools. Since its opening, the NBP Money Center has attracted crowds of visitors, including many individual tourists. In 2021, the facility gained additional popularity when a music video for the single "Napad na bank" (Bank Heist) was filmed inside. The Center is a typical example of combining education with modern technology, making it an important place in Warsaw's cultural landscape.
