Nowe Ostrowy is a rural municipality located in the Łódź Voivodeship, within the Kutno County. For a long time, it was known as the Błonie Commune, changing its name to Nowe Ostrowy in 1953. The municipality covers an area of 71.55 km², dominated by agricultural land (74%) and forests (12%). The main town of the municipality, Nowe Ostrowy, serves as the seat of local authorities, and the Ochnia River flows through the area, adding to its charm and recreational appeal. Demographically, as of the end of 2014, the municipality had a population of 3,588. The diverse social and age structure of its residents reflects interesting aspects of local life. The area is home to four nature reserves: Dąbrowa Świetlista, Ostrowy, Ostrowy-Bażantarnia, and Perna, which protect the region's rich flora and fauna, highlighting the local importance of nature. The municipality is also a member of the Association of Municipalities of the Kutno Region, fostering cooperation and regional development. The commune includes villages such as Bzówki, Grochów, Imielno, and Wołodrza, as well as smaller settlements like Grochówek and Nowa Wieś. Nowe Ostrowy borders the municipalities of Dąbrowice, Krośniewice, Kutno, Lubień Kujawski, and Łanięta, facilitating cultural exchange and economic interactions with neighboring areas. Despite its small size, the municipality offers numerous opportunities to explore regional heritage and enjoy active leisure time in nature.
