wikipedia
Nowa Wioska is a village in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Bydgoszcz County, situated on the southern edge of the Bydgoszcz Forest. Located within the Toruń-Eberswald Valley, the village borders Dąbrowa Wielka and Tarkowo Dolne. It encompasses 89 hectares of arable land, and its characteristic features include a pine forest and peat meadows intersected by drainage canals. The village is home to a historical monument: residential building No. 8, which is listed in the register of heritage sites. Nowa Wioska has a rich history dating back to the 18th century when it was founded by Dutch settlers. In the 19th century, the village developed dynamically, attracting German colonists, and at various times it belonged to both Catholic and Protestant parishes. In 1920, after Poland regained independence, the village's name was changed to Nowawioska. After World War II, it became part of the rural commune of Dąbrowa Wielka and was later transformed into an independent administrative unit. Nowa Wioska once had a primary school, and from the 1960s, it underwent electrification and road paving. Modern demographic data indicate a stable, though modest, increase in population, with a tendency toward a decreasing number of households. Interestingly, as a result of administrative reforms, the village changed its name and affiliation multiple times, reflecting the turbulent history of the region. Nowa Wioska combines historical, architectural, and cultural values, making it an interesting point on the map of Kuyavia.
