Olbrachcice is a village located in the Opole Voivodeship, within Prudnik County, historically situated in Upper Silesia. It is known for its diverse architectural heritage, including the Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a historic house dating back to 1849. Since its origins in the 14th century, Olbrachcice has witnessed many significant events, such as the Upper Silesia plebiscite of 1921 and numerous battles during the Silesian Uprisings. The village underwent various administrative changes and was given its Polish name in 1947. During World War II, 16 Polish citizens lost their lives here, and after the war, the inhabitants, including the German minority, were assimilated into the new Polish administration. The German Circle of Friendship operates in Olbrachcice, and the local community nurtures the Silesian dialect known as the Prudnik vernacular. A notable feature is the monument commemorating the villagers who died in both world wars, as well as the grave of Silesian insurgent Konstanty Lachotta. The village also boasts rich tourist infrastructure, with numerous cycling and hiking trails that attract visitors. Organized events, such as the Kolarski Rajd Dookoła Ziemi Bialskiej (Cycling Rally Around the Biała Land), promote local culture and history. Olbrachcice combines rich cultural and natural heritage, creating a unique atmosphere experienced by both residents and tourists.
