Stara Błotnica is a rural commune located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Białobrzegi County. The administrative seat of the commune is the village of Stara Błotnica. This region has a long history, dating back to the times of the Kingdom of Poland, when on January 13, 1867, the collective commune of Błotnica was established as part of an administrative reform, which contributed to its development. In its early years, the commune belonged to the Radom County and had only 3,077 inhabitants. The commune covers an area of approximately 96.24 km², of which 84% is agricultural land and 9% is forested. It is this agricultural land that reflects the traditional life of the local community, which has been based on farming for generations. The commune constitutes 15.05% of the area of Białobrzegi County. In 2004, the population was 5,226, indicating the demographic stability of the region. Stara Błotnica is surrounded by neighboring communes such as Białobrzegi, Radzanów, and Przytyk, which fosters integration and cooperation among local communities. The commune includes many villages, such as Chruściechów, Czyżówka, and Grodzisko – Trąbki, showcasing its diversity and cultural richness. Although the region is not known for monumental architecture, its buildings, including traditional houses and farm structures, still retain their regional character. It is also worth mentioning the rich local traditions, which are cultivated by the residents and can be observed during various festivals and cultural events. Despite its small size, the commune of Stara Błotnica has many assets that attract tourists and offer residents a friendly living environment.
