wikipedia
Stary Lubliniec is a village in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Lubaczów County, situated on the Tarnogród Plateau near the Roztocze region. It covers an area of 15.26 km² and borders Cieszanów and other localities. First mentioned in 1507, the settlement developed significantly, particularly in the 16th and 17th centuries, and was influenced by Vlach colonization. The village was home to beekeepers and innkeepers, and Stary Lubliniec featured extensive fishponds. At the beginning of the 18th century, the village was part of the non-grod district (starostwo) of Lubaczów, and from 1975 to 1998, it belonged to the Przemyśl Voivodeship. During World War I and II, the village experienced various upheavals, from German occupation to Polish-Ukrainian conflicts. After the war, Ukrainians were resettled, and new settlers from other regions of Poland moved into Stary Lubliniec. In 1966, the Roman Catholic parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord was established, making use of a former Orthodox church built in 1926, which was renovated and converted into a parish church. Over the years, the village has developed its cultural life, including various associations, a school, and sports activities. Interestingly, despite its small population, Stary Lubliniec became an important center of Ukrainian culture during the interwar period, highlighting its ethnic and social diversity in the past.
