The municipality of Stara Kamienica, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship within the Karkonosze County, is an area rich in natural and cultural values. Within its boundaries lies the Krokusy w Górzyńcu Nature Reserve, which protects a natural site of saffron crocuses. This is not only a tourist attraction but also a unique botanical phenomenon in the Karkonosze region. The municipality, with its administrative seat in the town of Stara Kamienica, covers an area of 110.46 km², of which 56% is agricultural land and 36% is covered by forests. Stara Kamienica is a diverse region, both in terms of nature and demographics, with a population of 5,274 in 2015 and 5,242 in 2020. The municipality also includes partner towns such as Korenov and Guttau, fostering cultural exchange and interregional cooperation. Within the municipality, there are villages such as Antoniów, Barcinek, and Wojcieszyce, which contribute to local social and cultural life. Stara Kamienica, with a rich history dating back to earlier years, was part of the Jelenia Góra Voivodeship until 1998, highlighting its significance as an important point on the map of Lower Silesia.
