Ossala is a village located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, within Staszów County, in the administrative district of Osiek. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship. The village is well-connected thanks to National Road 79 and several county and municipal roads. Ossala is home to a primary school and a Volunteer Fire Department, as well as tourist attractions such as the green hiking trail from Chańcza to Pielaszów and the yellow cycling trail. Among its notable landmarks are the Adam Bień Memorial Room and the Creative Work House of Józefa and Adam Kwiatkowski, a painter and a poet. The history of Ossala dates back to the times of Jan Długosz, who in his 15th-century work mentioned "Osalija." The name of the village has evolved over the centuries, and the modern form "Ossala" was established in 2002. The contemporary village is known for its strong local traditions, including the Calvinist movement, which has its roots in the 16th century. According to documents from 1886, the village was described as having 67 houses and 541 inhabitants. Ossala was formerly part of the Tursko municipality and was known for its local estates, as well as memorial sites related to its history. In the 19th century, there were two small lakes here. Local tradition has preserved various place names and stories about the village's past, attracting the attention of researchers and tourists interested in the region's history. Modern Ossala, situated at an elevation of 180.1 meters above sea level, continues to cultivate its unique cultural and architectural heritage.
