Ostrowite Municipality, also known as Ostrowite Kapitulne Municipality, is a rural administrative district located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Słupca County, with its administrative seat in the village of Ostrowite. From 1975 to 1998, the municipality was part of the Konin Voivodeship. At the beginning of 2019, it had a population of 5,077 residents, indicating a slight decline compared to previous years. The municipality covers an area of 104.1 km², dominated by agricultural land (81%) and forests (7%). In the social structure of the municipality, the Rural Housewives' Clubs play a significant role, actively operating in many localities, including Doły, Giewartów, and Ostrowite. Education is provided by two primary schools, and the local community engages in various forms of activity. The municipality boasts rich cultural heritage due to its rural traditions, as well as numerous village administrative units (sołectwa) and non-administrative settlements, including Giewartów, Grabina, and Lucynowo. It is worth noting that Ostrowite borders other municipalities, such as Kazimierz Biskupi, Kleczew, Powidz, and Słupca, which fosters cooperation and cultural exchange. The municipality exemplifies the Polish countryside, where traditions are cherished and developed in harmony with modernity.
