Ozimek is an urban-rural commune in the Opole Voivodeship, within Opole County, with its administrative seat located in the town of Ozimek itself. The commune's history dates back to before 1975, when it was already part of the Opole Voivodeship. Covering an area of 126.5 km², the commune is predominantly forested (58%) and agricultural (31%). It is home to 19,543 residents (as of December 31, 2019).
Within the commune lies the village of Krasiejów, renowned for the discovery of reptile and amphibian fossils, including dinosaurs dating back to the Triassic period, making it a site of significant paleontological importance. The Mała Panew River flows through the commune; in 1938, it was dammed in Turawa, creating Lake Turawskie, a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
The commune comprises numerous administrative villages, such as Antoniów, Biestrzynnik, Dylaki, and Krasiejów, as well as smaller settlements like Jedlice and Nowa Schodnia. It borders the communes of Chrząstowice, Dobrodzień, Izbicko, Kolonowskie, Strzelce Opolskie, Turawa, and Zębowice.
