The war cemetery of the Skarżysko-Kamienna Home Army Subdistrict, also known by the codename "Morwa," was established in August 1943 in a forest near Skarżysko-Kamienna, on the slope of Skarbowa Mountain. It was consecrated in May 1944 by Home Army chaplain Father Antoni Pałęga, pseudonym "Ager." The cemetery serves as a memorial site for several dozen graves of partisans who fought in the units of Jan Piwnik "Ponury" and Antoni Heda "Szary." Historically, the cemetery is an important symbol of the struggle for independence and is closely linked to the activities of the Home Army during World War II. Every year in May, field Masses are held here, attended by color guards, Home Army soldiers, local government representatives, schoolchildren, and local residents. These ceremonies were almost always attended by Home Army commander General Antoni Heda "Szary," who passed away on February 14, 2008. From an architectural perspective, the cemetery blends into the natural landscape, surrounded by old-growth trees, giving it a distinctive character. Several hiking trails lead to the cemetery, including the red trail named after H. Dobrzański "Hubal," which encourages tourists to visit this memorial site and facilitates access for those wishing to pay tribute to the fallen partisans. The "Morwa" cemetery not only commemorates tragic wartime events but also serves as an important cultural and educational landmark, reminding visitors of the region's history and the role its inhabitants played in the fight for freedom.
