Parzęczew, an urban-rural municipality in the Łódź Voivodeship, located in Zgierz County, has its administrative seat in a town of the same name. The history of the municipality dates back to the pre-war years, although in 1953 its name was changed to the Piaskowice Municipality. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was within the borders of the Łódź Voivodeship. According to data from the end of 2007, Parzęczew was inhabited by 5,025 people. The municipality features a diverse land structure, covering an area of 103.89 km², of which 73% is agricultural land and 15% is forest land, making it a significant part of the county as it constitutes 12.15% of its area. In November 2010, the pilot phase of the Łódź Regional Teleinformatics Network was launched in Parzęczew, which may indicate technological development in the region. Although specific architectural elements or cultural sites have not been described in detail, the municipality certainly preserves local traditions and history, which are an integral part of Polish culture. Parzęczew borders many other municipalities, such as Aleksandrów Łódzki, Łęczyca, and Zgierz, which enhances its importance as a hub for local cooperation and cultural exchange. An interesting aspect is the agricultural character of the municipality, which reflects the strong connection of its inhabitants with nature and a traditional way of life.
